When cruising around East London, it is not uncommon to bump into someone, chat away and realize that you’re not sure where or when you met. But some how you know each other fairly well. Its an East London thing, its pretty awesome!
And, thats how Sarah and I met (I think?!). However, as you will read below, Sarah is not based in South Africa but is enjoying life Down Under. Sarah is also an ambassador for Karma Bikini’s a brand created by two sisters who have a passion for ocean conservatory and ethical practices.
So, while on a family holiday, Sarah and I connected for a morning sunrise shoot around Nahoon Nature Reserve, East London.
Without further do, I introduce to you, Sarah Alers
Hi my name is Sarah but you can call me Sar, Sar bear, possum? (I’ve only been called that once! Haha).I’m originally from East London ,but currently call Brisbane home. By day i’m a Storage Consultant and drive a forklift (wait, what?!?) but by night I’m a party animal and socialite. I absolutely love travelling and could totally spend my days exploring exotic beaches around the world. My favorite holiday destination is Seychelles (so far) and I would do absolutely anything for red wine, dark chocolate, sushi, Betty’s burgers and tequila. In my spare time i enjoy running, cycling, dancing and I’d really like to spend time with good mates. My perfect date…I love long romantic walks on the beach (Haha, see what I did there) but good wine, and a great deep meaningful conversations and I’m good! I have a crazy list call “Sarah’s Urban Dictionary” at work (Sarah says vs. Australia says) and no one knows this but behind the big laughs and smiles I’m actually quite shy.
Pierre & Abigail chose to head to the coast with friends and family to say their “I do’s”. From the Free State, these two wanted to make sure that their wedding consisted of sandy toes and salty kisses. A day adorned with love and laughter, their infectious smiles and joy made everyone and ease and the party being a celebration. Thank you, Pierre & Abigail for inviting us to capture you day and we know that the journey ahead is paved with adventure!
Months back, Sam got hold of me about booking a sunrise Trash The Dress photo shoot. I was definitely keen in anticipation of a beautiful warm sunrise. However, come shoot day and we greeted with freezing cold water and and gloomy skies.
But did that stop us from rocking this? Never! Something I often say to my clients is that no matter the weather, we will tell and capture a story… and so we did. A couple who’s adventure matches their love for one another.
As a photographer, how could I not be stoked when receiving a message saying “Those Photos are epic.. Thank You!”
